Call to 911 named Masoli, Embry as suspects in frat house theft
By entering guilty pleas on Friday, Jeremiah Masoli and Garrett Embry ended months of speculation about what happened at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon house in January -- and made available to the public for the first time the 911 call from the victim who reported the crime.
Some excerpts from the call:
CALLER: There were two men, one's name is (male voice in background: "Garrett Embry") Garrett Embry and the other was Masoli
911 DISPATCHER: What -- Who was the other one?
CALLER: Masoli. I'm not -- (male voice in background: "Jeremiah Masoli") Jeremiah Masoli (female voice in background: "He f-ing stole your computer!?")
911 DISPATCHER: OK, can you spell his last name?
CALLER: Garrett Embry and Jeremiah Masoli.
911 DISPATCHER: Can you spell Jeremiah's last name?
CALLER: M-a-s-o-l-i. Like the football player.
The caller said the men did not have permission to be in the house or his room. The dispatcher asked the caller how he knew them.
CALLER: One of them is a football player who is very easily recognizable, Jeremiah Masoli, and the other one, I know someone -- is another football player whom my roommate recognizes."
The dispatcher asks which way the men went, then asks the caller how he discovered the crime.
CALLER: I was walking up the stairs and they were walking down the stairs with my possessions.
