Community united by sacred sounds
On the ninth anniversary of the monthly interfaith prayer service that began on October 11, 2001, people in the community honored different faiths with sacred chants and music.
The monthly prayer service was started by Siri Kaur Khalsa-Harris after the 9/11 tragedy. She said she had a vision to build the community up through prayer, love and celebrating each other’s differences.
The prayer service is held every month on the 11th day at the First Christian Church in Eugene. Each service features a different theme.
