EUGENE, Ore. - Local 4th grade teacher Elizabeth Broadbent is helping her students stay active.  Broadbent teaches at Cesar Chavez Elemtary school and has also been a marathon runner for the last 10 years.

When the P.E program at the elementary started getting cut, Broadbent decided to make up for it.

Every Wednesday, she and her students put on their running shoes and do laps around the school.

While the exercise is a great way for this local teacher to gear up for the upcoming Eugene Marathon, she says it's more about her students' health.

This is the third year for the running club and more than 70 students are participating.
